History- Religious Remains |
Rait's Religious Remains PresentationRait History Group presented 'Rait's Religious Remains' in the Annat Hall, Rait on Wednesday 20th May. To coincide with the Rait Church Ivy Clearance, in partnership with Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust, the History Group researched and explored the history and role of the church and the graveyard to the village of Rait. Images of the ivy clearance were displayed before members of the group talked about the seven religions of Rait, the gravestones in the graveyard and the lives of Archibald Gorrie and Ogilvie Lawrence, residents of Rait who were buried in the graveyard. The evening closed with ideas and suggestions for future projects. Next Project: We hope to begin an oral history project in the near future. Please keep an eye out here for further information!
